A lawyer and a witness in the Presidential panel probing the suspended Chairman of EFCC , Ibrahim Magu has accused the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice , Abubakar Malami of trying to use him to testify against Magu .
Victor Giwa , in a press statement narrated how Malami in collaboration with sacked aide to Vice President , Yemi Osibanjo , Donald Wokoma .
Wokoma , according to Mr Giwa was being investigated by Magu’s led EFCC for alleged misappropriation of 250 million naira meant for Amnesty programme through Damaijay Integrated Services , a company , according to Giwa owned by Wokoma to secure juicy contracts using his influence as Special assistant to Osibanjo .
He said Malami had him arrested when he refused to give in to their demand of indicting Magu.
” On August 18 and 19 , 2020 , I was invited by Justice Ayo Salami panel , sitting in Aso Villa to testify against Ibrahim Magu through a conspiracy between AGF Malami and Donald Wokoma , sacked Special Adviser to the Vice President , Prof Yemi Osibanjo.
” I have represented Wokoma in the past and secured judgements in his favour.
” He is currently being investigated and scheduled to be arranged before Justice Akanbi of FCT High court , Lugbe.
” He was absent at the court hearing I represented him and the case was adjourned to October 10 , 2020 for arrangement.
” Donald Wokoma in a desperate move to escape justice conspired with persons in the office of the AGF who had promised him to frustrate the trial and release his restricted account.
“To achieve this the AGF requested Wokoma have me do a petition against Magu to justice Salami panel , accusing him of graft , an offer I turned down.
” My refusal earned me the fury of the AGF who ordered my arrest and that of Fatima Hassan , a lawyer whose testimony exonerated me and Magu of any wrongdoing. ” Barrister Giwa said.
