…Abbysinia Battalion Emerges Champion Of 2019/2020 Training Year

The Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service, Colonel Hameed Ibrahim Ali (retired) has commended the contributions of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna in producing quality officers for Nigerian Armed Forces. He made the commendation during the Beating of the Retreat and Prize Giving Ceremony held at the NDA Afaka on Wednesday 30 September 2020.

“I applaud the Commandant NDA for commencement of the construction of a Counterterrorism Village and the recent tour of operation areas by cadets of the Academy, which will help prepare the them mentally, physically and emotionally for the tasks ahead” he said.

Col Ali who was the Guest of Honour advised the Cadets to bear in mind all the leadership roles and attributes they have learnt and acquired while in the Academy in discharging their duties after commissioning.

Abyssinia Battalion emerged Champion Battalion, after edging 3 other regular battalions to win the highest number of trophies and medals during 2019/2020 Training Year of the NDA.

The Beating of the Retreat and Prize Giving Ceremony brings to close all training activities for the year at the NDA. The event, apart from the presentation of awards and trophies saw a musical performance by the Military Band, as well as the lightning of the bonfire by the Guest of Honour.
