Hon. Mustapha Zukogi has formally retracted and disowned his earlier allegations against the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kaduna State, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, clearing him of any wrongdoing.
In a video going viral on the matter, Hon. Zukogi explained that the claims he previously made including allegations that the commissioner revealed sensitive government information, acted arrogantly, exceeded his official mandate, and others were based on misleading and unverified information.
He clarified that further findings showed that Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos acted strictly within the constitutional and administrative responsibilities of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as clearly defined by the Kaduna State Government, and that no law or directive of the state was breached in the course of his duties.
Hon. Zukogi also offered an unreserved apology to Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos and the general public for the misinformation, reaffirming his commitment to due process, the rule of law, and responsible leadership.
Political observers note that the public retraction reflects a growing culture of accountability in Kaduna State’s political space, where people are increasingly expected to correct the record when errors occur.
