As the waiting continues on emergence of new emir of Zazzau after the passing on of Shehu Idris, a group has alleged that an influential Kingmaker in the palace has taken the symbol of authority out of the palace to an unknown destination.
This was disclosed in a press release by the Group known as Zaria Progressive Minds signed by its Chairman Musa Wusasa who said the alleged mastermind of the plot to steal the staff of office from the palace had discovered that their preferred candidate who was a contender in the race of succeeding Shehu Idris would not be selected, according Mr Wusasa, the saboteurs in collaboration with others conspired to sabotage the process in order to cause chaos.
Mr Wusasa has commended Governor Nasiru elRufai for his fatherly role played so far to make sure that the right process is followed in electing the next emir.
He also urged Governor el-Rufai to hasten the process by announcing the new Emir to preempt evil machinations of individuals he said did not mean well for Zazzau Emirate.
“The longer it takes to announce the new emir, the more these plotters would attempt to disrupt the process by throwing the whole kingdom into chaos to distabilize the relative peace we enjoy in the state.
“The missing symbol of authority is an important attribute of an Emir, absence of which could create vacuum and create tensions amongst our people.
“The Governor must act fast to forestall a possible breakdown of law and order due to the action of these elements within the palace. ” Wusasa said.
The Group further called on DG of DSS, IG of Police and other relevant security agencies to investigate alleged use of money to influence kingmakers to preserve the sanctity and integrity of Zazzau Emirate, while urging a Swift action be taken to retrieve the missing staff from these individuals, it said didn’t mean well for the kingdom.
