Speaker House of Representatives Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has hailed the decision of Hon. Usman Ibrahim popularly called Sardaunan Badarawa of rejoining the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the action as apt and smart.
The Speaker made the statement while hosting Sardaunan Badarawa in his House of Assembly Office in Abuja on Wednesday.
Hon. Usman Ibrahim was PDP Kaduna Central Senatorial Candidate in 2023 General Election.
He recently severed ties and defected from PDP to APC.
Hon. Abbas assured Sardaunan Badarawa of equal and fair treatment in APC, adding that with high caliber of leaders with proven integrity and foresight in the ruling party, the Former Chieftain of PDP would have a conducive ground to contribute his quota to growth and development of Nigeria.
While urging the grassroots politician to utilize his wealth of experience to the advantage of APC, especially in the Renewed Hope agenda of the present administration, expressed optimism in a better and brighter future for citizens.
“I am very pleased and elated over your decision to dump your former party because you have seen the sincerity of the present leadership of APC at virtually every level of governance to take Nigeria forward.
“I’m not unaware of your invaluable contributions in uplifting socioeconomic status of people at the grassroots all the years you have been in partisan politics.
“I will urge you to continue with similar tempo and even more as you rejoin the APC in your quest to ensure a good life for the people.
“I will implore you to synergize with the leadership at the state level to see how best you can serve our people of Kaduna State so that our common goals of a better nation can be achieved, “he advised.
Responding, Sardaunan Badarawa commended the speaker for his exemplary leadership qualities since assuming head of the Lower Chamber.
He expressed delight over the warm and hospitable reception he received from his host.
Hon Usman Ibrahim, promised to contribute his quote to the development of the party both at the state and national level.
