The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Zamfara State, Engr Ibrahim Gusau, has felicitated with Muslims on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, calling on the people of the state to embrace peace, unity and the spirit of sacrifice for the progress of the state.
In a Sallah message personally signed by him on Wednesday, Gusau urged residents to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for lasting peace, security and economic recovery in Zamfara and Nigeria as a whole.
He said the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir remains a reminder of the virtues of obedience, patience, sacrifice and total submission to the will of Allah, stressing that Nigerians must continue to uphold the values of love, tolerance and mutual understanding.
According to him, “Sallah is a period that teaches us sacrifice, compassion and devotion to humanity. I urge our people to remain united and continue to pray for peace and stability in Zamfara State and the country at large.”
The PDP governorship candidate also appealed to political leaders, traditional rulers and religious stakeholders to promote peaceful coexistence and discourage actions capable of threatening the peace of the state during and after the festivities.
Gusau expressed concern over the security and economic challenges facing many communities in the state, but assured that with collective efforts, sincere leadership and commitment from citizens, Zamfara would overcome its present difficulties.
He further called on wealthy individuals and well-meaning citizens to extend support to the less privileged, widows, orphans and vulnerable persons during the festive period, noting that caring for the needy is one of the key lessons of Eid-el-Kabir.
The governorship candidate reaffirmed his determination to provide purposeful leadership that would focus on security, agriculture, education, healthcare and youth empowerment if elected governor of Zamfara State.
He prayed for Allah’s blessings, protection and prosperity upon the people of the state and wished Muslims a peaceful and successful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
