People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Support Group popularly known as Credible Candidates (C2) has thrown her weight behind governorship bid of Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, saying Kano State will prosper under the flag bearer of All Progressives Congress (APC).
In press statement, National coordinator of of the group, Dr. Jamilu Auwalu Adamu eulogized leadership virtues of Gawuna, adding that Kano State would benefit from the current deputy governor at helm of affairs as elected Number one citizen of the nation’s Centre of Commerce.
Adamu disclosed that the group with the strength of over 11 grassroots mobilizers in each 3,500 polling units in all the 44 local government areas in the state could make electoral impacts in any contest.
He explained that the group deployed its electoral muscles in favour of PDP’s candidate Atiku Abubakar in the just concluded February 25 Presidential election.
Adamu however expressed disappointment over the attitudes of PDP chieftains in Kano as the reason he severed relationship with the party and decided to work for success of APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for March 18.
He expressed confidence in ensuring electoral triumph of Gawuna at the poll next week.
“I can assure you that due to wide support base and masses mobilization ability of Senator Danburam Abubakar Nuhu who is our patron and leader the APC’s victory in the forthcoming governorship poll is assured.
“It is only a matter of time before Gawuna is declared winner of the election because of the state-wide support he enjoys, including that of our group which has instructed all mobilizers across all 44 LGs in Kano to swing into action by effectively work for the victory of Gawuna.
“We have seen in him an individual with the midas touch of continuing the infrastructural and human development legacies of Ganduje.
“He has been a loyal, committed and effective deputy to the present administration in the state.
“He has also been instrumental to remarkable achievements of the Ganduje’s administration all through and is enjoying undilluted patronage and support from citizens of the state.
“We therefore, urge our teeming supporters and mobilizers to ensure the victory of Gawuna as next duly elected governor of Kano State.
“We are now rigorously working round the clock in earnest mobilizing serious votes within 8 metropolitan and 44 LGAs for Nasiru Gawuna.
“Also, we have just launched a giant project tagged ‘C2 Votes for Gawuna’ to be completed by Friday 17th Mach, 2023 midnight.
“We strongly believe Nasiru Gawuna is the only Credible and best for the job as an incumbent APC Deputy Governor in the state and having worked as Chaiman Nasarawa LGA and in various capacity as commissioner with all governors of Kano State since 1999, including senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, senator Ibrahim Shekarau, and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
“He pledged to build on their legacies, respect for Culture, Norms and Values, Constitution, Civil Servants, Politicians, busisiness entrepreneurs, retirees, elites, Imams, men and Women, local government autonomy among other ingredients of good governance,” he assured.
