Infrastructure Development: Mamman Lagos Inaugurates Projects Monitoring Committee

Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos has inaugurated committee to ensure timely completion and quality deliveries of projects across Zone One.

While unveiling members of the committee headed by Abubakar DanSabo in the Ministry’s Hall on Thursday, the commissioner mandated them to monitor and ensure contractors deliver quality jobs for the people, particularly those at the grassroots.

He added that the Committee had been subdivided into three units for effectiveness and service delivery.

They are; Rural Electrification, Road Construction and Solar Street light.

He said the Uba Sani led administration had procured over 42 transformers, cables and other vital components for rural electrification projects across Zone A which he noted would go along way in improving transmission and distribution of electricity to the remotest location in villages.

He said the present administration of Governor Uba Sani had initiated giant and far-reaching community development projects, he noted would put smiles on faces of the masses.

He urged the committee to ensure integrating notable stakeholders and community leaders irrespective of party, religion and tribe in monitoring activities for effectiveness.

“It is in line with the Governor Uba Sani mandate to the people of the state to hit the ground running by paying the needed attention to infrastructures that matter to the masses, especially those at the grassroots who are in dire need of government intervention.

“What we have done here today is to put a structure in place saddled with responsibilities of tracking awarded contracts across the state to make sure contractors deliver according to terms of contract.

“We are commencing with Zone A and other remaining zones will be captured subsequently as contained in the state government agenda of an all inclusive deal with the people of the state.

“Ensure you mobilize your people, particularly in Soba where a ten kilometer road has been build and delivered by Uba Sani to receive our good and amiable governor on Saturday as he toured the zone,” he appealed.
