Goodwill messages have continued to pour in from across political and social circles, eulogizing antecedents and accomplishments of Kaduna State Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos.
Mamman Lagos made history in the 3rd Republic as the youngest ever elected boss of a Local Government when he emerged Chairman of Kaduna North.
The grassroots politician turned 60 on 28th December, 2024 in a life full of service to his state, country and humanity in general.
A cross section of beneficiaries of the politician’s philanthropic and community development gestures spoken to described him as a compassionate leader, always occupied with how to uplift members of the public, particularly youth and women.
Sadiq Mamman Lagos whose public dossier and political acumen attracted Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State to appoint him Commissioner of the strategic Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.
Since his appointment to head the LG Ministry, Mamman Lagos has never missed the opportunity to make positive impact in ensuring equitable and effective distribution of wealth and resources across the 23 Local Governments of Kaduna State.
He often stresses the need to make the impacts of government felt by citizens, especially the downtrodden whom he described as first and primary constituency of any serious policy maker.
To cushion the effects of economic bottleneck resulting from subsidy removal by the federal government, whose impacts the Uba Sani administration strives to minimize by concentrating social and economic safety net on the grassroots, Mamman Lagos has been in the forefront of ensuring the measures get to the target quarters.
An astute believer in transparency and accountability in governance, core values in Uba Sani’s administration which must be held sacrosanct by public officials, Mamman Lagos easily found himself in the right place serving under the present leadership which has brought back the confidence of the masses in governance.
His immense contributions in implementing the SUSTAIN Agenda of the current administration in the state cannot be overemphasized as various community and human development programmes spread across critical sectors have been initiated and accomplished, creating goodwill for the government of the day.
A man whose political philosophy has always been putting the people first believes in building intellectual and mental capacity of individuals for growth and development of the larger society.
