DICON Tasks It’s Management Staff To Reposition Corporation

The Director General (DG) of Defence Industries Cooperation of Nigeria (DICON), Major General Victor EzugwuEzugwu has called on his management staff on a 2 days retreat to imbibe a team spirit and commitment to the efforts towards repositioning the corporation to take it’s pride of place in the security architecture of Nigeria.

Ezugwu made the pledge during a retreat, organised for top management staff of  DICON in fifth chukker resort in kaduna.

He pledged to redouble its efforts in the production of military equipments and arms to support the fight against terrorism and other forms of insecurity in the country.
The DG stressed that DICON would do more in the  manufacturing of ordnance materiel for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other securityagencies. 
According to him, it would help in the fight against terrorism and other forms of criminal activities towards aligning with President Buhari’s assurances in his new year speech, which assured Nigerians more security and bringing an end to banditry and other forms of insecurity. 
Ezugwu, said his making every efforts to reactivate the moribund explosives factory in Jebba for more profitability in this era of dwindled scarce resources.
Ezugwu said he was inspired to prosecute the executive order 5 of Mr. President which called for utilisation of local content for defence production and prosecution of the crisis in the north east and other parts of the country.
“On my assumption of duty as the DG in 2019, I coined my vision for DICON, to be the Hallmark for Research and Manufacture of military equipment leveraging on local content that meets the global standards.
“We have tried to reposition the corporations production facilities across the country such as refurbishment of absolete equipment in the factories for increased production, establishment of the special equipment factory from the remains of the defunct DICON-Marom company” he stated.
