Covid-19: Farmers Free To Move Agricultural goods Unhindered

Kaduna State Chairman of Joint Technical Task Team on Emergency Response on COVID-19 on Challenges of Movement of Food and Agricultural Inputs says farmers are free to move their goods across all parts of the state without any hindrance.
The State team Chairman who is the  Commissioner of Police Kaduna state, Umar Musa Muri stated this when he led members of the Joint Technical Task Team  on a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Mr. Samuel Aruwan in his office at Sir. Kashim Ibrahim, Kaduna.

He explained that the committee was inaugurated on 7th May by the directive of the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture Nationwide in order to ensure free movement of agricultural goods.
The Team leader, Muri explained that the courtesy visit was to formally inform the state government the existence of the committee and solicit for partnership in order to boost movement of agricultural goods in the state.
He further explained that the Committee was replicated at the twenty three local government areas of Kaduna State as directed by the Federal Government.
Early, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs Mr. Samuel Aruwan explained that already the government has declared farmers as among the essential services during the lockdown.
He also said the government was committed to ensure farmers got fertilizer for this farming season on time in order to boost the agricultural products in the state.
Mr. Aruwan gave assurance of government’s support to the committee in order to ensure free movement of agricultural Inputs, foods and livestock in the State.
