No fewer than 1500 women benefitted from cash donation over the weekend in Kaduna to boost their trade for economic growth and prosperity.
The women selected from different wards of Kaduna North Local Government and environs received the cash donation via a foundation called ‘Kowa Namu Ne,’ owned and operated by Chairman APC Stakeholders Forum in the State AbdulAzeez Kaka.
In his speech, Kaka said the initiative was inspired to complement the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu of poverty reduction and also that Governor Uba Sani’s SUSTAIN agenda of creating wealth through support for small scale entrepreneurs with women as focal point.
He disclosed that over 5000 individuals had been captured so far as beneficiaries in the empowerment drive and other programmes designed to straighten the socioeconomic fabrics of citizens in the state.
He stated that women as the bedrock of every family should be empowered so they could in turn cater for the socioeconomic, medical and educational needs of their dependents without relying on governments.
While paying glowing tributes to President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, Kaka lauded the two leaders’ programmes of increasing agricultural productivity, supporting small scale entrepreneurs and youth and women empowerment.
Kaka while also drumming support for Tinubu and Governor Sani, expressed confidence in the leadership prowess of the two leaders, saying in no distance time, gains of the reforms being undertaken would begin to manifest, not only for the benefit of the present generation but for secure and prosperous future.
He charged elected and appointed government officials and corporate entities to assist in empowering citizens to reduce the effects of joblessness which he blamed for spread of social vices in the society.
“When we invest in our youth, We reduce unemployment; When we empower women, We strengthen our homes; and when we create opportunities, we close the doors of crime and open the gates of prosperity.
“Together with the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda as our guide and the Kaduna State Government’s inclusive policies as our foundation, We will continue to work tirelessly untill every young person, particularly the womenfolk in Kaduna North has the means to live with dignity, security and hope.
