An aspirant for the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Kawo Constituency, Abubakar Zulkarnaini, popularly known as Mai Solar, has distributed relief materials to vulnerable residents as part of efforts to support them during the Ramadan period.
The intervention saw the distribution of 300 bags of rice to households across the constituency to cushion the effects of economic hardship and enable beneficiaries to observe the fasting period with ease.
In addition to the food items, the aspirant also distributed 300 pieces of wrappers to women in the area to promote dignity, inclusion and support during the holy month.
Zulkarnaini said the gesture was in line with the people-oriented agenda of Governor Uba Sani, which prioritises the welfare of citizens, especially the vulnerable.
He noted that Ramadan is a period that emphasises compassion, generosity and service to humanity, adding that the initiative was inspired by the need to uplift the living conditions of the less privileged.
According to him, responsive leadership requires a direct connection with the people and a commitment to addressing their immediate needs.
The aspirant further stated that the outreach reflects his dedication to social welfare and grassroots development in Kawo Constituency.
He assured residents that his ambition to represent them in the state assembly is anchored on inclusive governance and policies that will improve their standard of living.
Some beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed appreciation for the support, describing it as timely and impactful as they prepare for the Ramadan and Sallah celebrations.
