Sadiq Mamman Lagos Hails Uba Sani’s Governor of the Year Award, Cites Security, Infrastructure Gains

The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Kaduna State, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, has congratulated Governor Uba Sani on his emergence as Governor of the Year 2025 by the Leadership Media Group.

The award was presented at the organisation’s 18th Conference and Award Ceremony held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja, in recognition of the governor’s outstanding leadership and transformative strides across critical sectors in the state.

Hon. Lagos described the honour as well-deserved, noting that Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated uncommon courage and commitment in addressing longstanding challenges confronting Kaduna State.

He said the award reflects the governor’s consistent dedication to people-oriented policies and sustainable development initiatives that have positively impacted citizens at the grassroots.

According to the commissioner, one of the major factors that earned the governor the prestigious recognition is his administration’s remarkable progress in tackling insecurity.

He said through strategic collaboration with security agencies, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders, the state government has restored relative peace in many previously troubled communities.

He added that proactive intelligence gathering, community engagement, and logistical support to security operatives have significantly reduced incidents of banditry and kidnapping.

Hon. Mamman Lagos further stated that the governor’s investments in infrastructure development have repositioned Kaduna State as a hub for economic growth.

He noted that several urban and rural infrastructure projects have been completed, including the construction and rehabilitation of roads, bridges, and public facilities, thereby improving connectivity and boosting commercial activities across the state.

In the area of road construction, the commissioner highlighted the administration’s commitment to opening up rural communities that were previously cut off from economic opportunities.

He said new road networks and the rehabilitation of dilapidated ones have eased transportation challenges for farmers and traders, leading to improved agricultural productivity and market access.

On education, Hon. Lagos commended Governor Uba Sani for prioritising reforms aimed at strengthening the sector.

He pointed out that the renovation of schools, recruitment of qualified teachers, provision of instructional materials, and expansion of access to basic education have significantly enhanced learning outcomes.

He added that the government’s sustained investment in education demonstrates its resolve to secure a brighter future for Kaduna’s younger generation.

The commissioner also praised the governor’s inclusive governance style, which he said has strengthened local government administration and deepened democratic participation.

Through regular engagement with stakeholders, traditional institutions, and community leaders, the administration has ensured that development projects reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.

He noted that fiscal discipline and transparency in public finance management have further distinguished the governor’s leadership.

According to him, prudent resource management has enabled the state to fund critical projects without compromising its financial stability, while also attracting investors and development partners.

Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos therefore reaffirmed the unwavering support of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for Governor Uba Sani’s administration.

He expressed confidence that with continued focus, determination, and people-driven policies, Kaduna State would witness even greater milestones in the years ahead, describing the Governor of the Year 2025 award as a testament to purposeful leadership and impactful governance.
