Kaduna North APC Targets Membership Surge as Mamman Lagos Engages Ward Leaders

In a renewed push to expand the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the grassroots, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Director-General of the Senator Uba Sani Support Group (SUSSG), Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, has engaged party leaders from Unguwan Shanu/Abakwa and Unguwan Kanawa/Hayin Banki wards in Kaduna North Local Government Area.

The engagement centred on strengthening party structures, boosting the ongoing APC e-registration exercise and consolidating support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Lagos said the party’s focus in Kaduna State is to build a strong, people-driven structure capable of sustaining electoral victories, stressing that the state is targeting 2.5 million registered APC members through the current e-registration process.

He announced the formation of a grassroots mobilisation team, G-75, made up of 40 women and 35 men, who will work across the 12 wards of Kaduna North to drive voter education, party registration and mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.

The commissioner noted that the inclusive policies and development projects of the Uba Sani administration have continued to attract new members to the APC, urging ward leaders to remain united and proactive in carrying the party’s message to the grassroots.

He commended party leaders in the two wards for their consistency and loyalty, assuring them that sustained engagement with grassroots stakeholders remains central to the state government’s political and developmental strategy.

Dignitaries at the meeting included Hon. Shettima Yarima, Kaduna Central senatorial aspirant; Hon. Saleh Shu’aibu, former chairman of Kaduna North Local Government Council; Hon. Mohammed Sani (M-S), former member of the House of Representatives; Hon. Ibrahim Yala, Special Adviser on Finance, Kaduna North Local Government; as well as Hon. Abdullahi Lema and Hon. Abdusamad Chimadi, Special Advisers to Governor Uba Sani. Party executives and serving and former councillors from the wards were also present.

Meanwhile, Hon. Lagos also held a separate meeting with the 23 local government coordinators, secretaries, women leaders and youth leaders of the SUSSG, directing them to intensify mobilisation for the APC e-registration exercise within their respective local government areas, in line with the directives of Governor Uba Sani.
