Plateau State Commissioner of Works Hon. Joshua Ubandoma has stated that the State Government will ensure the completion of 49 abandoned projects inherited from the immediate past administration of former Governor Simon Lalong .
Ubandoma made the disclosure during the tour of project sites in the Southern and Central senatorial zones of the state.
According to him, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has graciously approved the mobilization of contractors, Mould Nigeria Limited, 18th Engineering Construction Company and many others to these sites to ensure they are completed and put into use for the benefit of the people of the state.
He explained that the tour has further exposed him to the reality on ground adding that the Ministry of works will work in synergy with the Ministry of Environment to construct drainages for erosion control in the Southern zone of the state.
Some of the project sites visited includes Langtang Lalin Garkawa road, Yelwa bridge, Jibam DokaTofa bridge, Mararaban Demshi Kalong road, Langtang and Wase road, Jarmi-Bashar road, Kerang-Ampang road network and Lankang Dyis road among many others.
The Commissioner also stated that the Lankang Dyis road if completed motorists coming from South East will take short cut from Lafia to Kurgwi and Dokan Tofa down to Jibam and connect straight to Pankshin, Mangu and Bokkos LGA.
“This is a signature project.
It’s an in route into Plateau state and other states. I think Quan-pan, Panshin, Bokkos, Mangu and part of Shendam are all beneficiaries of these very important projects.”
The Commissioner further argued that accessibility has been expanded and commuters coming from the East not necessarily going through the pains of passing through Jos the state capital but will cut through Langkang and get to Bauchi and Kano state.
According to him, the road when completed will boost revenue generation and facilitate easy transportation of farm produce from one place to another in the state.
He maintained that most of the projects were initiated in 2017 by the immediate past administration of Simon Lalong but the present administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang is poised to complete them as a demonstration of good governance and continuity in government.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman of Shendam Hon. Kemi Nshe, Christopher Manship of Quan-pan and Emmanuel Mwolpun of Mangu LGA all commended the state Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang for ensuring the completion of all abandoned projects in the state.
