The Kaduna State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline and accountable management of public funds, saying the administration of Governor Uba Sani has laid a solid foundation for sustainable grassroots development across the state’s 23 local government areas.
The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, stated this while chairing the June 2026 statutory meeting of the Kaduna State Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) held at the Senator Uba Sani Conference Hall in Kaduna.
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Mahmud Lawal, the 23 local government chairmen, their Finance and Budget Deputies, directors of the ministry, as well as representatives of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASSA), Primary Health Care Board, Office of the Accountant General, Pension Bureau and the Local Government Service Board.
Speaking at the meeting, Lagos said Governor Uba Sani’s administration had continued to distinguish itself through transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources, adding that these principles had strengthened confidence in government at all levels.
He said the governor’s commitment to open and transparent governance had ensured that public resources were deployed to projects that directly impact the lives of citizens, particularly at the grassroots.
According to him, the administration remains focused on promoting fairness, due process and prudent financial management, while encouraging local government councils to uphold the highest standards of accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The commissioner urged council chairmen to ensure judicious utilisation of allocations in line with the developmental priorities of their respective communities, stressing that effective service delivery remains central to the vision of the present administration.
He noted that Governor Uba Sani’s leadership had continued to provide the political will needed to deepen local government autonomy, improve governance and accelerate socio-economic development across Kaduna State.
The meeting reviewed key fiscal matters relating to statutory allocations and other financial issues affecting the local government councils, with participants resolving to sustain collaboration in order to improve service delivery and fast-track development at the grassroots.
