The Kaduna State Government has deployed 3,000 newly recruited personnel under Operation Tsapta to intensify environmental sanitation across Kaduna metropolis.
The deployment followed the commencement of distribution of work equipment to the new recruits, who have been assigned to various locations, including major roads and other public spaces within the metropolis.
The 3,000 personnel are expected to complement the existing 5,000 Operation Tsapta workers recruited by the Kaduna State Government in December 2025 through the Ministry of Local Government Affairs under the leadership of Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos.
With the latest recruitment, the total workforce under Operation Tsapta has risen to 8,000, according to the state government.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening environmental sanitation, keeping public spaces clean and improving the general environmental condition of Kaduna metropolis.
Speaking on the development, Sadiq Mamman Lagos, who oversees the programme through the Ministry of Local Government Affairs, said the additional recruitment was aimed at expanding the workforce while creating employment opportunities for residents of the state.
He said the administration of Governor Uba Sani was committed to transforming Kaduna into one of the cleanest states in the country through sustained investment in environmental sanitation and other development initiatives.
Lagos commended Governor Uba Sani for what he described as his commitment to improving the lives of residents and transforming the state through various government programmes.
He said the recruitment of additional Operation Tsapta workers was part of efforts to ensure that sanitation activities were sustained across the metropolis and that more residents benefited from the state government’s employment initiatives.
He urged the newly recruited personnel to demonstrate commitment and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, stressing that a cleaner Kaduna required the collective efforts of government workers and residents.
He added that the state government would continue to support initiatives that promote a cleaner, healthier and more environmentally friendly Kaduna.
