The Hafsat Uba Sani Birni Da Karkara Initiative has appointed the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, as its patron.
The appointment was announced when members of the initiative paid a courtesy visit to the commissioner in his office in Kaduna.
The group, during the visit, said the appointment was in recognition of the commissioner’s role in grassroots engagement and his contributions to local government administration in the state.
Responding, Mamman Lagos commended the initiative for its activities and expressed support for its objectives.
He also commended the contributions of Her Excellency, Hajia Hafsat Uba Sani, and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, to the development of the state.
The commissioner said the administration had recorded achievements across various sectors, particularly in areas affecting communities and grassroots development.
Mamman Lagos urged members of the initiative to remain focused on issues affecting the people and to use available platforms to communicate government programmes and achievements to residents.
He further said that the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and those of Governor Uba Sani could form part of the issues to be highlighted by the group as political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The commissioner pledged his support to the initiative and encouraged its members to strengthen their engagement with communities across Kaduna State.
Mamman Lagos, who has been serving as Commissioner for Local Government Affairs since the inauguration of Governor Uba Sani’s cabinet, is responsible for coordinating local government affairs and working with the state’s 23 local government councils.
The visit ended with the initiative formally presenting the patronship to the commissioner and reaffirming its commitment to grassroots engagement across the state.
