The Middle-Belt Forum has expressed its gratefulness and thanks to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR, for finding Mr. Cyril Tsenyil, from Plateau State, worthy to be nominated the Managing Director/CEO of the North Central Development Commission.
In a statement to that effect by the President of the forum, Dr. Pogu Bitrus, the said for finding one of their own worthy of that position is truly commendable, adding that as a sociocultural organization that embraces all ethnic nationalities of the Middle-belt region, they will always celebrate and advance their own who is always befitting of any position.
“This selection has demonstrated President Tinubu’s unswerving commitment to excellence by choosing one of the brightest who served as Accountant General of Plateau State with myriad of laurels to his credit.
“We exceedingly rejoice with the nominee for the position of Managing Director and CEO of the North Central Development Commission and earnestly await his confirmation by the National Assembly to bring succour to our people who are being massacred, displaced and rendered refugees in their own father’s land.
“The protection of ethnic nationalities who are mischievously referred as minorities of the North remains the centre of gravity upon which the struggle for the liberation of our people is anchored.
“In this regard, we celebrate and welcome the nomination of Mr. Cyril Tsenyil as Managing Director and CEO of the North Central Development Commission by Mr. President.
“While we await the confirmation of the nominee by the National Assembly, we call on our people in the North Central who are entirely Middle-Belters to key into the mission and vision of the commission to alleviate the sufferings of our peoples and restore our dignity as Nigerians worthy of respect and integrity.
“The Middle-Belt Forum remains committed to the ethos of justice, equality, equity and fairness for the marginalized ethnic nationalities of the North who are treated as second class citizens. Mr President’s bold and courageous intervention has restored hope and confidence in the Middle-Belt that we are all citizens of a country committed to unity and progress as hallmarks of any viable nation,” the statement partly read.
