Mamman Lagos Celebrates Balarabe at 60, Hails Her Role in Kaduna’s Development

The Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, has commended the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, for her outstanding contributions to the development and stability of the state.

Lagos gave the commendation on Wednesday during the August 2026 Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) plenary session held in Kaduna and chaired by the deputy governor as part of the statutory process for the equitable distribution of Federation Account allocations to the state’s 23 local government councils.

The commissioner described Balarabe as a dependable and committed public servant whose role in the administration of Governor Uba Sani has contributed significantly to the implementation of government policies and programmes across the state.

According to him, the deputy governor has demonstrated maturity, diligence and loyalty in the discharge of her responsibilities, particularly in ensuring effective coordination between the state government and local government councils.

He noted that her leadership and contributions had helped strengthen grassroots administration, promote accountability and improve service delivery, stressing that her wealth of experience had remained valuable to the administration.

The JAAC plenary, which was attended by Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mahmood Lawal, local government chairmen, senior government officials and representatives of relevant agencies, focused on transparency, fiscal accountability and prudent management of resources.

Lagos said the committee remained committed to ensuring that allocations due to the 23 local government councils were handled transparently and responsibly to enable the councils meet their obligations and deliver meaningful development to residents at the grassroots.

The session also featured a surprise birthday celebration for Balarabe, who clocked 60, as members of the JAAC committee and government officials joined in celebrating the deputy governor and acknowledging her years of service and contributions to Kaduna State.
