KASU Students Commend Uba Sani For Appointing Prof. Ibrahim As Head Scholarship Board

Students of Kaduna State University have commended Governor Uba Sani for appointing Prof. Yahya Saleh Ibrahim as Executive Secretary Kaduna State Scholarship and Loan Board, describing the head of the agency as an achiever.
The students said welfare and academic interests of students had never received better attention in history of the State than under the present Administration.
Prominent amongst the students heaping praises on the Executive Secretary is a Masters student in Development Studies and Policy, Economic Department, kaduna State University Comrade Abubakar Adamu who stated that loan and scholarship issues of students can now be said to be receiving the needed attention, adding that three Medical students in Cuba had been sponsored to continue their studies for the good of the state.
He revealed that virtual tokens as  requirement for scholarship applications for indigent students in rural communities of the state who cannot afford the cumbersome nature of tax clearance had been introduced.
“Review of Law School Students’ Scholarships, MBBS service charges payments, and Nursing service charges payments, creation of computer centers in seven zonal units to ease the application process for indigents and rural communities.
“The present administration provided 30 brand-new desktop computers to the Board to ensure a seamless application process across all seven zonal application centers and inclusion of a government special scholarship intervention program for Innovation, Aviation, Meritorious, and Underprivileged students, ” he said
“He ensured safe and successful return of one of our scholars, Shamsudeen  Abdullahi hat was stranded in the UK and supported NAKASS with an office space at KADSSLB Head Quarters for ease of liaison.
“He introduced physical verification of scholarship applicants to ensure inclusivity as suggested by Governor Uba Sani and supervised by the Governor’s adviser, Mal Yusuf Hamisu Abubakar.
“Inter-university knowledge and curriculum transfer with foreign and local universities to reduce cost of foreign sponsorship and increase local university quality, knowledge exchange and visibility.
“Introduction of skill acquisition and academic upscaling of teachers in both secondary and primary schools to support skill transfers at early education and  evacuated Kaduna State students from Sudan due to conflict.
“He processed admission (1st batch) for 50 Kaduna State students at Mewar University at the cost of N200,000,000.00, payment of 32 months upkeep in May 2023 to students of IUA Sudan at the cost of N53,280,000.00 and Payment of 31 Months rent at N22,214,854.20 to 3 Kaduna State students in University of Wollongong, Dubai, UAE and another five months rent to five Kaduna State students in UK.
“Payment of 25% tuition fees for local scholarship to Kaduna State University (N10,632,500.00). Payment of N27,063,720.00 to successful scholarship applicants at Ahmadu Bello University Zaria.
“Payment of over 81 million naira as 14 month upkeep and /accommodation to nine Kaduna State sponsored Medical Students in Cuba and payment of N25 million tuition fees till graduation to successful Kaduna State students,” he added
