Chairman of Uba Sani Ambassadors (USA), Hon. Musa Zamzam has urged Kaduna State youth not to join the planned nationwide protest, saying constructive dialogue and engagement will best solve the nation’s socio-economic challenges.
Zamzam in a statement sued for restraints and enjoined the masses, especially the youth whom he described as leaders of tomorrow on whose shoulders he noted rests the future of Nigeria’s growth and development to eschew any act capable of endangering the nation’s democracy and jeopardize peace enjoyed by citizens.
The grassroots and youth mobilizer while acknowledging the hardship occasioned by high cost of living felt across the country expressed optimism that governments, both federal and state would address and proffer lasting solution to the lingering issues at stake.
“While we understand the frustrations and concerns about the current state of our economy, we believe that giving the government time to implement its policies and stabilize the economy will yield better results in the long run.
“Let me be clear with you all that I am not undermining our fundamental human rights, that peaceful protest is guaranteed in our constitution, but in most cases, such protests end up being violent. The indicators are everywhere.
“Let us engage in constructive dialogue, offer innovative solutions, and work collaboratively with our leaders to address our challenges.
“I believe Nigerian youth to be good students of history with lessons learned from the 2020 EndSars protest, which did not yield the desired benefit, rather, it was hijacked by hoodlums and the result was total mayhem against innocent individuals, public, and private properties.
“I call on all Kaduna State youth to embrace peace and patience while we offer our support to government initiatives aimed at economic growth.
“It is our duty to also engage our leaders in positive contributions to our communities and believe in our collective potential for a brighter future together, as youth, we can actively participate in politics and our voices can be heard, our ideas and our actions can bring about the needed transformation in our State and Nigeria at large.
“Let us give the government the benefit of the doubt as President Tinubu and our able Governor Uba Sani listen to and react to the challenges facing Our country and state and together, we can build a prosperous Kaduna State and a better Nigeria for generations to come,” he said.
