All arrangements have been concluded for the official launch of Operation Tsapta, a strategic environmental sanitation initiative of the Kaduna State Government aimed at transforming cleanliness and public hygiene across Kaduna metropolis.
The programme is scheduled to be formally launched on Thursday, 29th January 2026, at 10:00am, by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Dr. Uba Sani, CON.
Operation Tsapta is being championed by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, in line with Governor Uba Sani’s sustained agenda for a cleaner, safer and healthier urban environment.
Ahead of the official flag-off, final preparations have been completed to ensure the smooth take-off of the programme, which is expected to significantly improve sanitation standards across the Kaduna metropolis.
The flagship environmental sanitation initiative will be driven by over 1,000 newly recruited personnel, including supervisors, drivers, sweepers and gardeners, who will be deployed to strategic locations across the metropolis.
The programme will focus on cleaning major roads, clearing refuse dumps, maintaining public spaces and promoting hygiene practices among residents, with the aim of reducing environmental hazards and improving public health.
Speaking during the orientation exercise for the newly recruited staff, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos assured participants of the state government’s full commitment to the success of the initiative.
The commissioner said Operation Tsapta would strengthen existing sanitation efforts while also contributing to poverty reduction and job creation, especially for youths and vulnerable groups in Kaduna State.
Hon. Mamman Lagos praised Governor Uba Sani for his visionary leadership and commitment to environmental sustainability, noting that the initiative is designed to support and advance the governor’s hygiene and urban renewal programmes across the state.
