COVID-19: Kaduna Govt lauds NB Plc  for  donating N20m, vehicle, others

Following what it termed “a timely support” the Kaduna State Government has applauded the Nigerian Breweries Plc for supporting the fight against COVID-19 via it donations of 20million Naira, a service vehicle with driver attached and assorted drinks.

Recieving the donation on behalf of Kaduna State Government, the Secretary to the State Government Alhaji Balarebe Lawal said the support is timely and will be effective in providing succor for the Citizen of Kaduna State.

The Brewery Manager Mr. Abbey Ajayi assured that “we have being in Kaduna since 1964 and we feel the pains of Kaduna Government and it Citizens at this difficult time. In our usual style of winning with Nigeria, we deem it fit to support the government in providing palliatives to the Vunerable in the sum of 20million naira, a service vehicle with a driver attached for COVID-19 Kaduna Task force and drinks.”

“This donation is part of a total 600 Million Naira donation to the Nigerian government.
Out of this amount, N250million will be donated to the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 under the auspices of the Private Sector Coalition Against Covid-19
(CACOVID-19), N100 million Naira to Lagos state as the nation’s epicentre of the pandemic; another N150 million will be shared amongst 7 other states; and the final N100 million will cover the provision of relief materials such as Personal Protective Equipment, sanitizers, regular supply of malt, energy and soft drinks to COVID19 task force”

Also speaking, the Public Affairs Manager North Nigerian Breweries Plc Mr. Danjuma John Ekele revealed that the Company will continue to support the Kaduna State Government in it endeavor to serve her citizenry stressing that Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai has being a pillar for the business via provision of security and peaceful enviroment favourable for the business.

“Nigerian Breweries Plc as a family will continue to pray for the speedy recovery of the Governor and others who have tested positive for the novel COVID-19 virus in Kaduna State” Ekele added.

Earlier, the Nigerian Breweries Plc also donated assorted drinks to the COVID-19 Task force in the State, Goverment parastatals and other security agencies.
